Community development and revitalization of our neighborhoods

Community development and revitalization of our neighborhoods

We don't want a satellite town on the outskirts of Prague, where people just sleep over and leave every morning to live their lives in the big city. We are interested in preserving village values with deep cultural roots. We want a village where people truly live together as neighbours and create a welcoming community. It doesn't matter what neighborhood someone lives in, whether they were born or moved here, or how old they are.

Strengthening community life in our communities is essential, because community life is the inner strength of a community. We will strive to bring citizens together not only through a common school, repaired roads, but also in everyday or festive moments. We have already started the pedestrian connection of our villages with the section Kuchař - Vysoký Újezd and we would like to continue to Kozolupy via Lužce.

We want to create an environment in Vysoký Újezd, Kozolupy and Kuchař where people will like to live, come back from work and our children will spend their free time. The beautified village square can become a place of social and cultural life and a place of which local people will be proud.

Revitalising our town squares

Revitalising our town squares is one of our next priorities. Creating central squares in villages, building local centres that will be meeting places, places to sit and play, so that they serve people across generations. For successful implementation, it is necessary to know what we need in our villages, regardless of the currently announced subsidies. Then, of course, there is the matter of funding, where it is clear that quite a few things will not get done without subsidies.

Regardless of the current subsidy calls, we need to develop a project and, if necessary, obtain a building permit so that we are ready when the subsidy comes. Therefore, in order to make the result not only functional but also representative, we would like to launch an architectural competition and select the most suitable study for the preparation of the next stage of documentation. We foresee greater use of the water areas and the construction of areas for gatherings and cultural events.

Kozolupy

We are pleased that a fruitful cooperation between the municipality and the newly formed settlement committee has been launched, which is active, and in a short time the results of its work can be seen, for example, in the area of the former barn. As part of this cooperation, we participated in the preparation and submission of a grant application for the repair of the chapel. We plan to continue to meet regularly with the settlement committee to present the current needs of the inhabitants of Kozolupy and suggestions for improving the local situation.

On the other hand, our main concern is the general condition of the village square, which deserves a comprehensive revitalization. The area of the village square is used for many social events and neighbourhood meetings during the year, so we plan to complete the community centre step by step, according to the current possibilities, to improve the surroundings, to establish a new playground at a safer distance from the water, etc.

A study has already been completed for the reconstruction of the municipal building, where we would like to provide, among other things, more decent premises for a grocery store and facilities for the community centre. On the upper floor we aim to build two council flats, e.g. for teachers in our school. We would like to take the study through to design and obtaining planning permission this year.

We want to implement this project as soon as possible:

  • repairing the roof of the municipal building
  • a shelter or pergola over the club garden
  • outdoor sanitary facilities
  • a multi-purpose reservoir from the unmaintained water reservoir, ideally a biotope, with the possibility of swimming in the recreation area

In terms of quality of life, we perceive the problem of the proximity of quarries and blasting, which annoys the inhabitants of Kozolupy with frequent shocks. We are negotiating with the management of the Mořina quarries to mitigate the impact of the mining operations and to divide them into partial blasting operations with less intensity. We have managed to sign a cooperation agreement that will provide Kozolupy with financial and material support from Lomy for the construction of a community centre.

Kuchař

Last but not least, our priorities include continuing to work with the Kuchař settlement committee to address the current and future needs of the residents of our smallest part of the village. During the past period we have tested a working concept of communication and working together. The Settlement Committee identifies the priorities that local residents feel are most needed. Some of these priorities have already been fully or partially realised (e.g. the asphalt surface in the street "K Viaduktu" or the start of the construction of a footpath connecting Kuchař with Újezd). The most important ones that are currently included in our programme and partly in the investment plan are:

Revitalisation of the village square

Thanks to the cooperation of the settlement committee and the village leadership, a study has been carried out to create a community space around the reservoir in the village square. The subsequent project will include cleaning and modification of the pond, rehabilitation of the dykes, construction of a pier with seating and a new pontoon, as well as revitalization of the greenery, trees and shrubs in the area.

We intend to follow up this study with further gradual improvements to the whole village square to include sidewalks, benches and rest areas, and a bus shelter at the bus stop. We must not forget the repair of the monument and its surroundings, including the repair of the chapel, which will be carried out this year with donated funds. The improvements to the village square are also linked to making the traffic situation clearer with regard to pedestrian safety.

Revitalisation of the sports ground

Although most of the sports fields will be newly implemented in Vysoký Újezd, we also want to renew the existing playground in Kuchař. In particular, it is necessary to renew the surface of the football field and repair the technical equipment. We also want to build a service entrance for the sewage pumping station outside the playground.

In addition to completing the pedestrian and cycle path, we will also strengthen the connection between Kuchař and Vysoký Újezd by increasing bus services. This will be important, already because of the expansion of the school by a second grade, on the border of the two cadastres.
