Our programme

In the previous elections we declared in our election programme that the completion of the primary school and the development of civic amenities is an absolute priority for us. Over the last year and a half, through our work in the council and committees, we have identified many other issues that plague our community. However, it is not possible to address all areas at once; it is important to plan systematically and be prepared to make informed use of grant funding, which will greatly assist us in implementation. Below is a list of topics that we feel are key to our community.

Nine years old primary school in Vysoký Újezd

A repeatedly discussed and resonating topic in Vysoký Újezd is the issue of the lack of educational infrastructure. The primary school became the number one topic among the wider public, especially after an information meeting for parents of preschoolers was held on 5 February 2024. At ŽIJME SPOLEČNĚ, we are basing this on factual and complete information, so we will try to outline it for you in this way.

Traffic safety situation

The traffic safety situation is as much of a concern as the lack of infrastructure, and solving it is equally important. Where there used to be a few cars per hour, there is now heavy traffic due to population growth and ongoing construction. The county's original roads are inadequate. Safe passage through some parts of the villages is out of the question due to the lack of pavements and crossings.

Investments for the development of the municipality

The current situation in the municipality and the list of necessary investments is based on the meteoric growth of the population and therefore their wishes and needs in recent years. We have come to address this situation after the election in the fall of 2022, when many opportunities have already been taken or missed. We have appealed quite strongly in personal meetings to the developer to share the profits made and contribute to the infrastructure in the village under the ESG (Environment, Social, Government) principle. This request was rather firmly brushed off, saying that all agreements from the past had already been concluded and it was too late to deal with the developer's participation in the construction of amenities.

Community development and revitalization of our neighborhoods

We don't want a satellite town on the outskirts of Prague, where people just sleep over and leave every morning to live their lives in the big city. We are interested in preserving village values with deep cultural roots, where people actually live together in a neighborly way and create a pleasant community. It doesn't matter what locality someone lives in, whether they were born or moved here, or how old they are.

Connecting all parts of our village

Two other settlements, Kozolupy and Kuchař, currently fall under the municipality of Vysoký Újezd. In the past, the individual, separately functioning settlements did not require a large degree of integration and interconnection. Nowadays, however, due to the increase in population and in particular because of shared amenities such as schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, cultural and gastronomic facilities, etc., there is a need to bring the individual parts of the villages closer together and better connect them.

Professional and transparent operation of the municipality

Practically all areas of human life are now regulated by law, and this is of course also the case with regard to the functioning of the municipality. It is undoubtedly a great advantage to have a person in charge of a municipality who is familiar with the legal system of the Czech Republic and, by extension, the European Union. A mayor with legal knowledge is familiar with the Municipal Act and can quickly find his way around all the other legal regulations he comes across in the course of his duties.
